About 81Ohm

How We Got Here

Welcome to 81Ohm Massage & Co., Flint’s first downtown massage studio. Since November 2022, we have been creating and attending community events to bring awareness and accessibility for self-care practices to our city. We offer a wide variety of massage therapy, as well as couples massage, walk – in chair massage, cupping, assisted stretching, massage memberships, corporate massage bookings, and offer in-home massage therapy for those that have a difficult time coming to us. We are also a host to different yoga, sound bath, reiki, and Thai chi instructors for those interested in broadening their self-care horizon.

As of March 2024, our partnership with Dr. Harris of Harris Family Health will begin. Dr. Harris is a Flint native who has been an advocate and respected practitioner since her return from medical school in 2020. She opened her clinic in January 2022 and celebrated her expansion in January 2023. This partnership will provide monthly massage to her patients in addition to the Harris Family Health Wellness Membership, check out the link here ___ for more information.

Our mission is to provide our community with affordable and sustainable self-care. We believe bringing you good energy from our knowledge, passion, and experience will help you in your choice to be a healthier you. We chose the name 81ohm, not only to reflect our local area code, but to remind our clients that we can only help you with as much as you allow. There is always resistance with flow, and we choose to honor that relationship in between.

Meet Your Wellness Partner, Kara

Kara Dahlberg is the owner and lead massage therapist of 81Ohm Massage & Co.

Her mission is to provide sustainable self - care practices in downtown Flint with practicing various forms of therapeutic and medical massage. Helping others with self - care has been a part of Kara's life for twelve years, and each year she receives more continuing education credits to better her practice and sessions for her clients.

When Kara is not trying to heal the world, she spends as much time as she can with her family and dogs. A lover of nature, water, and adventure, you would not be surprised running into Kara at a nearby mountain bike trail, kayak launch, or campground.

Her motto in life is now the foundation of our practice, "Be Good Energy".
